I stood ankle deep in the rising tide for over an hour, but never noticed the chill from the water until my daughter asked me if I was cold. I wasn't until then. I forgave her for pointing out the discomfort I hadn't felt before she chose to make me aware of it. I had to. She had patiently waited for me, while I had patiently waited for sunset.
This series is part of an ongoing study on the evolution of subjects, capturing them over time and in different light, weather, and season. The fluidity of the subject is portrayed through a static medium.
This series depicts the same subject and location as Lonely Sea - Merge, although the photographic work for Evolve was performed the following spring, several months later. The overall time depicted here is approximately one hour.
The image is printed on acid and lignin-free cotton rag paper using archival pigment inks.
Unframed copies are sold without mat or backing boards. Overall paper size is approximately 1 inch larger on all sides, providing flexibility for mat and framing options.
Framed copies are sold with a one inch black gallery frame. All mat and backing materials are archival quality. The mat opening is slightly larger than the image, leaving the edition number and artist's signature visible. The print is mounted behind UV-protected conservation glass.
